It comes as no surprise to learn that smartphone use has surged in the last couple of years. That is probably, after all, one of the main reasons why your organization decided to create a mobile application in the first place. As it stands, mobile is the place to be and there is no end in sight.

The number of smartphone users in the U.S. has been rising steadily for some years now.  Indeed, a Pew Research Center study published in April reported that nearly 2/3 of Americans now own a Smartphone. Young adults top the charts with 85% owning a smartphone.

Forecasts estimate that smartphone penetration in North America will also continue to rise steadily into the future.

But not only do Americans own smartphones, they increasingly rely on them more and more. 19% of Americans are “smartphone-dependent”, relying to some degree on a smartphone to go online, either by not having internet access at their homes, not having other devices to access it or both

Offering content in a mobile-friendly format has never been more important.
